Job Description

Senior Product Manager - Publishing at Kit

Kit is an innovative email marketing platform chosen by experts to cultivate audiences, deepen relationships, and build thriving businesses around their passion. It serves coaches, YouTubers, authors, podcasters, and other creatives as a comprehensive marketing hub for audience growth, automated email marketing, and digital product sales, all within a single platform. Kit is committed to helping creators earn a living, with a mission to enable them to earn $1 billion through its creator marketing platform. The company operates independently and is 100% remote. Kit values enthusiasm and belief in its mission, vision, and values, and thoughtfully integrates AI into its building and hiring processes to foster an adaptable and innovative team.

The Role

Kit is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join its builders team, which is responsible for the core publishing platform. This includes features for creating email templates, landing pages, forms, newsletter sites, and more. The successful candidate will empower creators to produce and send high-impact, visually appealing, on-brand, and delightful content at scale. This area is central to Kit's business, as every creator's journey begins with building something. The goal is to make this experience fast, flexible, and delightful.

You will own key product surfaces from end-to-end, from identifying opportunities to launching products that impact hundreds of thousands of creators and billions of subscribers. This is a full-time, senior individual contributor (IC) role, ideal for someone passionate about developing high-quality products, aligning the company around a broader vision and strategy, measuring impact, and shaping how Kit is experienced by the world through every email, page, and form creators publish.

Your Support System

Reporting to Katie Swett Miller, Chief Product Officer, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, Success, and Sales teams. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment between product experiences and go-to-market efforts. You will also have access to a peer group of Product Managers at Kit for support and mentorship.

What You'll Do

  • First Week: Immerse yourself in Kit's product ecosystem, specifically the Builders surfaces (email editor, landing pages, forms, newsletter site), and current tools for measuring content quality and creator output. Attend Get-To-Know-You (GTKY) meetings with cross-functional partners. Gain access to and learn key tools such as Linear, Mixpanel, Omni, and the design/prototyping stack.
  • First Month: Establish routines. Deep dive into the products. Connect with a customer. Ship your first feature in close collaboration with engineering, design, and marketing.
  • First Six Months: Develop a clear point of view on how Kit can succeed in the industry. Define what success looks like for the team and the product area, ensuring engineers and the broader company understand progress toward these goals.
  • First Year: Lead major initiatives from concept through successful launch, demonstrating significant impact on customers and the business.

What Will Set You Up For Success (S.E.T.)

Skills

  • Data-informed decision making and quantitative analysis
  • Strong product judgment and prioritization abilities
  • Systems thinking and building for scale
  • Deep collaboration with design on craft and visual quality
  • Cross-functional influence and collaboration
  • Strong AI fluency, comfortable using AI tools daily and evaluating their product improvement potential
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Bonus: Publishing or content creation expertise

Experiences

  • 6-9+ years in product management with significant ownership of a core, revenue-driving product area.
  • Proven track record building high-quality, scaled software, ideally including creation tools, editors, or content/publishing surfaces.
  • Deep experience with online content creation.
  • Close partnership with design to drive long-term product area vision, including hands-on involvement in craft and visual polish.

Traits

  • High ownership and autonomy in ambiguous environments
  • Comfort balancing short-term wins with long-term vision
  • Systems thinker who builds foundations, not just features
  • Low ego, strong collaborator who influences without authority
  • Intellectually curious with a bias toward learning
  • Clear communicator who can articulate strategy, trade-offs, and results at multiple levels
  • Customer-focused while maintaining business discipline
  • Strong taste and attention to craft, caring about aesthetics as much as functionality

What Won't Set You Up For Success

  • Seeking highly structured environments with predetermined solutions
  • Preferring tactics over systems thinking
  • Needing extensive direction to identify opportunities
  • Discomfort with setting goals, measuring outcomes, and working against them
  • Difficulty distinguishing signal from noise in ambiguous situations
  • Indifference to visual/craft quality or treating design as an afterthought

Working Hours and Location

Kit is 100% remote with team members globally. This role requires consistent overlap with Engineering, Product, and Design teams across Europe and the U.S. Fixed meetings are scheduled from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Eastern on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, team members are asked to keep 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Eastern generally available for recurring EPD meetings, planning sessions, the Team Call, and occasional project meetings.
