Senior Backend Engineer at Binance

About the Role

Binance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high performance, low latency, and high availability systems that power one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges. You will contribute to the core trading platform and other critical backend services, ensuring scalability and reliability. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high performance, low latency, and high availability trading systems and core backend services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well documented code, adhering to best practices in software development.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, ensuring the stability and performance of production systems.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes, tools, and infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable and reliable distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Go (Golang), Python, or Java (with Spring Boot).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object oriented design principles.
• Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Demonstrated experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and stream processing.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial industry, particularly with trading systems or high frequency trading.
• Knowledge of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, or distributed ledger systems.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting.
