Senior Android Developer at Applaudo

Key Competencies & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five (5) or more years of professional experience in developing robust Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, coupled with a solid understanding of Java for maintaining legacy components.
• Proven experience building Android applications using the MVVM architecture pattern.
• Expertise in implementing Dependency Injection using frameworks such as Hilt, Dagger, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience consuming REST APIs and working with modern Android libraries.
• Familiarity with Firebase services, including Remote Config and Feature Flags.
• Proficient with Git-based version control systems and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working effectively in Agile environments, utilizing tools like Jira or similar project management platforms.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
• Upper-Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performing Android applications using Kotlin.
• Lead the development of new features while continuously supporting and improving existing application functionality.
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, QA, Platform, and Engineering teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Build clean, maintainable, and reusable code, strictly adhering to Android best practices and modern architectural patterns.
• Integrate complex REST APIs and backend services seamlessly into mobile applications.
• Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to overall engineering best practices.
• Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and stability.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and support automated build and release workflows.
• Participate actively in architecture discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of the mobile platform.
