Python Software Engineer, ELS Delivery Pipeline at CloudLinux

TuxCare is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the Endless Lifecycle Support (ELS) Delivery Pipeline team. ELS provides essential security updates for software versions no longer maintained upstream. The delivery pipeline handles the entire process from vulnerability assessment to patching, building, testing, and package publication across various ecosystems. This role involves building and operating internal services, tools, and integrations that connect these stages, ensuring work progresses smoothly to release. You will play a key role in automating repetitive tasks and assisting engineering teams in diagnosing and resolving pipeline failures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop pipelines for publishing security advisories based on vulnerability assessments and released fixes.
• Automate vulnerability assessment across extensive inventories of packages, versions, and dependencies across various ecosystems.
• Integrate vulnerability discovery scanners, reconcile their findings, and link results to assessment and patching workflows.
• Build and operate Python services, command-line tools, and internal interfaces for engineers managing vulnerabilities, tracking patches, and overseeing releases.
• Collaborate directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritize tasks, and define verification methods for results.
• Enhance build and deployment automation, monitor production systems, and troubleshoot failures across services, containers, and data stores.
• Conduct code reviews and improve automated testing, security, and maintainability.
• Utilize AI coding agents in daily development, including reviewing and testing the code they generate.

Requirements

Must Have

• Proven experience building and maintaining production software using Python.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for Linux environments and production debugging expertise.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs and services.
• Familiarity with asynchronous or distributed processing.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containers, and build or deployment automation.
• Solid understanding of relational data-modeling and SQL.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Python stack, including Django, Django REST Framework, Celery, and RabbitMQ.
• Experience developing services or command-line tools using Go.
• Familiarity with package ecosystems, dependency metadata, or vulnerability data formats like OSV.
