GitLab is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to join its all-remote R&D Program Management Office (PMO) team. This pivotal role involves owning complex, end-to-end programs essential to GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps strategy. You will be instrumental in driving high-priority initiatives across product, engineering, data, and security teams, translating strategic visions into actionable plans that deliver groundbreaking capabilities like the GitLab Duo Agent Platform and next-generation developer tools.

Working closely with executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, you will bridge strategy and execution through clear communication, proactive risk management, and structured program delivery. In your first year, expect to independently lead strategic programs, ensuring predictable execution, thoughtful tradeoffs between quality and speed, and transparent stakeholder alignment.

Key Program Examples:

• Leading the GitLab Duo Agent Platform from general availability (GA) through enterprise adoption, including customer onboarding, support models, and billing integration for AI-driven functionalities.
• Delivering data-intensive platform initiatives that significantly enhance developer productivity and enterprise analytics capabilities.
• Driving critical infrastructure modernization and scalability programs to support GitLab's expanding customer base.
• Orchestrating security and compliance initiatives to uphold industry-leading DevSecOps standards.

What You Will Do:

• Lead end-to-end technical programs spanning product, engineering, data, and security, from initial scope definition through launch and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with executive leaders and senior stakeholders to transform strategic visions into actionable roadmaps, aligning on priorities and making informed tradeoffs.
• Coordinate distributed teams across various time zones effectively, utilizing strong asynchronous communication to provide structure, clarity, and consistent status updates.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies, while facilitating decisions that balance speed, quality, and customer impact.
• Partner with customer success and other cross-functional teams to refine communication plans and operational workflows.
• Champion GitLab's values and culture within programs, fostering collaborative excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience in leading technical program initiatives within product, engineering, data, or security environments, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex programs from inception through scaled adoption.
• Demonstrated ability to define strategy and establish clarity in situations of extreme ambiguity.
• A strong background in SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps technology companies, with the capability to quickly master the GitLab platform and AI/ML initiatives.
• Proven experience influencing and driving significant impact at a divisional and company-wide scale, positively affecting market position and revenue.
• Excellence in cross-functional leadership, with experience partnering effectively with engineering, product, and security teams, and engaging senior and C-level stakeholders.
• Outstanding communication skills, including proficiency in asynchronous collaboration, executive reporting, and the ability to clearly translate technical complexity into business impact.

About the Team:

You will join a growing, distributed team of Technical Program Managers currently spanning North America and Europe. The team focuses on the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional programs, including AI platform capabilities, enterprise customer initiatives, and strategic technology transformations. As an all-remote team, they excel at asynchronous communication to coordinate across time zones while closely partnering with executive leaders and stakeholders to deliver business-critical outcomes.
