About the Role
Our mission is to ensure teams succeed quickly from their very first interaction with Camunda. As the Principal Product Manager for Time to First Production, you will be responsible for the entire journey from a new team’s initial workspace or local start, to their first process confidently running in production. Your objective is clear and exciting: make that initial success happen sooner, more smoothly, and more reliably than ever before.
You will serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for one of Product Strategy's three company-wide outcome areas, with significant autonomy to shape it. This includes defining what an excellent first experience entails, establishing metrics to prove delivery, and setting the strategy and priorities for Engineering, Design, and the Experience organization. This role has a founding-like mandate; the outcome area is established, the ambition is clear, and you will have the space to define the metric, roadmap, and overall experience. You will operate at the intersection of Camunda's AI-first approach (AI-assisted modeling, agentic development, ProcessOS-style process re-engineering) and the core principles of a seamless first-run experience (onboarding, guided building, testing, and the path to production). This position is ideal for someone passionate about transforming a bold, company-wide ambition, delighting customers from day one, into a measurable, funded, and truly exciting product.

What You Will Do
- Own the Time to First Production outcome area end-to-end: Define its north-star metric(s), the customer journey they represent, and the strategic investments (initiatives) required to achieve them.
- Partner with the Validation team: Build best-in-class, end-to-end measurement of the customer journey to continuously understand new teams' success and identify future investment areas.
- Set direction and prioritize: Make prioritization decisions across a portfolio of initiatives, including AI-assisted and agentic building experiences, guided onboarding, testing/validation tools, the path to production, and human-in-the-loop process experiences, in close collaboration with Engineering, Design, and Experience pod leads.
- Represent this outcome area: Communicate effectively to Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Product Marketing, and Go-to-Market (GTM) teams, translating product work into clear, evidence-based narratives for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate closely with fellow Outcome DRIs: Ensure coherence across the three outcome areas (Enterprise Adoption, Production Confidence) and facilitate smooth handovers (e.g., from "first process" to "second process and beyond").
- Bring an outside-in, evidence-based lens: Ground roadmap decisions in genuine customer needs and feedback, not internal assumptions.
What You Bring
- Significant experience: Proven track record as a Principal or Staff-level Product Manager owning a cross-cutting, metrics-driven outcome or platform area (not just a single feature surface) in B2B or enterprise SaaS.
- Measurement expertise: Demonstrated ability to build measurement and north-star metrics from the ground up, comfortable partnering with data/analytics functions to establish credible and trusted metrics.
- Strong influence and cross-functional leadership: Ability to align Engineering, Design, GTM, and executive stakeholders around a strategy without relying solely on formal authority.
- Excellent written communication: Recognize that strategy documents are a primary tool for this role, emphasizing clear, structured writing as much as decision-making.
- Passion for customer experience: Coupled with comfort in shaping your own remit as the outcome area, its metric, and roadmap evolve.
- Interest in AI-native and agentic ways of working: Or a track record in this area. Camunda’s product organization is actively building for a future where AI agents assist in building, testing, and re-engineering processes.
Nice to Haves:
- Background in process automation, workflow orchestration, BPM, or developer platforms.
- Experience partnering with Product Marketing / Analyst Relations on category or outcome-level positioning.
- Experience in a company undergoing a transition to an AI-first product operating model.
