About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to strengthen the backend systems supporting StackBlitz.com and Bolt.new. In this role, you will develop platform features, enhance developer infrastructure, and build integrations crucial for enabling millions of developers worldwide to build software entirely within their browsers. You will be an integral part of an ambitious team focused on making software development universally accessible. This position is ideal for those who excel at building robust systems, delivering high quality code, and collaborating across various teams.

How You'll Contribute

• Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of our core Ruby on Rails application.
• Design and optimize data storage solutions utilizing PostgreSQL and various object storage services.
• Develop features tailored for teams, organizations, and the broader developer community.
• Create integrations with external platforms to expand our product ecosystem.
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing feedback and ensuring the quality, security, and adherence to best practices for peer contributions.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Over 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Proficiency with AWS and contemporary cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with CSS, SASS, HTML, and various templating/styling languages.
• Experience building web applications using REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Production level experience with Node.js and TypeScript, as this role involves working across both Rails and Node/TypeScript stacks.
• Exceptional communication skills, particularly in articulating complex technical concepts.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are mandatory for effective collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and customers.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers or edge infrastructure.
• An interest in working with AI or Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience integrating with GitHub APIs or other version control systems.
