About the Role: Senior Backend Engineer, Core Discovery

Raya is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join its Core Discovery team. This is an impactful time of high growth for the team, which is responsible for how members discover people and places through our Maps and Location surfaces and our Directory search. The immediate focus will be on Maps, so candidates with experience building and owning location-based systems end to end are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate scalable server software.
• Design robust and scalable software architecture.
• Champion innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Actively support the backend team's initiatives and foster teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Demonstrated growth within previous organizations, showcasing both results and leadership abilities.
• Proven experience in building and operating server software.
• Experience with location-based systems is highly desirable, particularly for the Maps domain.
