Key Responsibilities of a Production Focused Risk Engineer

  • Underwrite renewal business across Management Liability (ML) product lines, adhering to company guidelines and performance objectives.
  • Evaluate risk exposures, analyze loss history, and review operational data to determine appropriate pricing, coverage, and terms.
  • Provide prompt and competitive quotes aligned with distribution and market strategies.
  • Act as a trusted partner to wholesale brokers, offering insightful underwriting guidance and responsive communication.
  • Cultivate and expand a portfolio of high-performing broker relationships to drive retention and profitable growth.
  • Represent Counterpart at broker meetings, industry conferences, and networking events.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Risk Engineers and product teams to refine guidelines, pricing models, and coverage forms.
  • Identify market feedback and recommend enhancements to improve product offerings and underwriting strategy.
  • Bind renewal accounts through consistent broker engagement and effective management of the renewal lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for all underwriting decisions.

Candidate Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of underwriting experience in Management Liability, with a preferred focus on renewals within the wholesale distribution channel.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and nurturing broker relationships.
  • Expertise in specialty liability products, including policy forms, rating procedures, and coverage structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Confidence in presenting and discussing underwriting decisions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with modern underwriting tools and systems.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional designations (e.g., RPLU, CPCU) are a plus.

The estimated total pay range for this role is $120,000 to $160,000. Base salary is determined by various factors including market data, location, internal equity, and experience.
