Job Description

About Logos

Logos is dedicated to developing the technology and fostering the community necessary for a more sovereign, decentralized world. Our innovative technology stack encompasses decentralized infrastructure, secure communications, and robust storage solutions, with a strong emphasis on privacy, censorship resistance, and permissionless systems. We operate at the forefront of protocol development, Web3 infrastructure, and ecosystem building.

We are actively seeking a Head of Business Development to spearhead business development initiatives across Logos and lead a team of two dedicated contributors. This is not a conventional sales position. We are looking for an individual deeply integrated within the Web3 infrastructure ecosystem, possessing a profound understanding of how decentralized networks function, and proven experience working with or launching privacy focused protocols. Crucially, you will have successfully navigated a mainnet launch, understanding the intricacies of building essential partnerships, ecosystem relationships, and infrastructure connections both in anticipation of a launch and as the network scales post-mainnet.

The Role

As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for leading the formulation and execution of strategies designed to expand the Logos ecosystem. Your key responsibilities will include establishing strategic partnerships, devising and implementing growth strategies, and cultivating relevant commercial relationships. You will identify opportunities where Logos technology can effectively address real world problems, forge relationships with protocols and infrastructure providers, and collaborate closely with our technical teams to transform these opportunities into impactful integrations and enduring partnerships. Additionally, you will manage and nurture a team of two, providing clear direction and prioritization while maintaining a highly hands on approach yourself.

A critical aspect of this role involves credibly engaging with technical stakeholders. While you are not required to be an engineer, you must possess a sufficient understanding of our technology stack to engage in substantive conversations with protocol teams, founders, and engineering leaders without needing technical translation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Logosโ€™ business development and partnership strategy, cultivating strategic relationships prior to mainnet launch and driving ecosystem growth and adoption through expanded distribution channels post-launch.
  • Identify the most promising ecosystems, protocols, infrastructure providers, and applications where Logos technology can deliver maximum value, attracting users and transaction volume to the Logos network.
  • Build a focused pipeline of high value opportunities, prioritizing strategic impact over partnerships for their own sake.
  • Establish clear priorities and measurable success metrics for business development activities, taking full ownership of performance against established goals and budget.
  • Manage opportunities comprehensively, from initial identification through technical evaluation, negotiation, integration, and ongoing relationship management.

Build Technically Meaningful Partnerships

  • Cultivate relationships across the broad Web3 infrastructure ecosystem, including wallets, centralized exchanges, on/off ramps, oracles, indexers, DeFi protocols and aggregators, multisigs, and other infrastructure providers, with a particular focus on those actively involved in the privacy ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities for integrations, deployments, ecosystem partnerships, and broader adoption of Logos technology.
  • Analyze prospective partnersโ€™ technical architectures to identify how Logosโ€™ privacy capabilities can complement their existing technology stack, thereby attracting privacy focused applications and protocols to build within the Logos ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on both sides to transition opportunities from initial discussions to full implementation.
  • Represent Logos credibly when engaging with founders, protocol leads, ecosystem teams, and key technical decision makers.

Understand the Technology

You should be comfortable discussing and comprehending concepts such as:

  • Layer 1s (L1s), Layer 2s (L2s), and modular blockchain architectures
  • Peer to peer (P2P) and decentralized networking principles
  • Nodes, validators, and network operators
  • Consensus mechanisms and distributed systems
  • Decentralized storage and messaging protocols
  • Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and blockchain infrastructure
  • Wallet and application infrastructure
  • Tokenomics and network incentive models
  • Testnets, mainnets, and network launches
  • Privacy preserving and censorship resistant technologies

While coding production level software is not a requirement, you must possess genuine technical curiosity and sufficient depth of understanding to grasp what we are building, why it is important, and how it can be leveraged by others.

Lead the Team

  • Manage, mentor, and foster the professional development of an existing team of two business development contributors.
  • Set clear priorities and ensure the team remains focused on opportunities most likely to generate meaningful adoption.
  • Implement a disciplined approach to pipeline management, ownership, and follow through.
  • Provide support to the team on complex partnerships and negotiations.
  • Establish accountability without introducing unnecessary processes or bureaucracy.
  • Remain actively involved in strategically important relationships and opportunities.

Work Across Logos

  • Collaborate closely with protocol, engineering, product, ecosystem, and communications teams.
  • Channel market and partner feedback back into the organization to help inform product and ecosystem priorities.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear and compelling propositions for diverse partners and use cases.
  • Assist technical teams in understanding the commercial and strategic context behind potential integrations.
  • Ensure partnerships yield tangible outcomes rather than mere announcements.

Required Skills

  • Significant professional experience in Web3, blockchain, or decentralized infrastructure sectors.
  • A strong understanding of the technical architecture of blockchain networks and Web3 infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in business development, ecosystem development, strategic partnerships, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrable track record of building partnerships that have resulted in concrete integrations, adoption, user growth, network activity, or revenue.
  • Existing network of relationships across the Web3 infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with highly technical stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the capacity to differentiate strategically valuable opportunities from mere noise.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a small team.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously within a remote, highly technical organization.
  • A genuine builder mentality; you thrive on taking opportunities from an initial concept to a tangible, existing reality.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in privacy focused ecosystems, including areas such as:

  • Privacy focused L1 or L2 ecosystems
  • Decentralized networking projects related to messaging, storage, and/or privacy tools and applications
  • Wallets
  • Experience with open source protocols is a must.

Hiring Process

  • Interview with our People Operations team
  • Interview with Artem (Investor Relations Lead) & Rahul (Business Development)
  • Task
  • Interview with Kaushal (Ecosystem Development Team Lead)
  • Interview with Co-founders, Jarrad & Carl

We may occasionally utilize cognitive and/or personality tests to gain further insight into a candidateโ€™s suitability for our organization. The results serve as an additional data point in our hiring decisions. Please note that these steps may be adapted if we determine it makes sense to adjust the interview stages, so consider the above as a guideline.

Compensation

The anticipated compensation range for this role is negotiable and will be determined based on your skills and experience as assessed throughout our interview process. We offer flexibility in payment, accommodating a mix of fiat and/or crypto.
