Quality Assurance Engineer at Applaudo

About You

Are you passionate about software quality and dedicated to ensuring applications perform reliably throughout their entire development lifecycle? This role is for you. You will combine both manual and automated testing approaches to pinpoint risks, validate functionality, and empower teams to deliver high quality products. As a proactive, detail oriented professional, you will comfortably collaborate with cross functional teams while independently managing daily QA activities. Your adaptability will be key as you navigate between functional testing, automation, regression, defect validation, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) based on project demands.

Your Competencies at Applaudo

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or similar roles.
• Strong practical experience performing functional and regression testing for web applications.
• Proven experience in building, maintaining, and executing automated test suites for web applications.
• Hands on experience with leading automation frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Practical experience testing REST APIs, including requests, responses, status codes, error scenarios, and integrations.
• Ability to independently design and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on project requirements and acceptance criteria.
• A solid understanding of the defect lifecycle management, covering identification, documentation, reproduction, triage, validation, and regression verification.
• Experience performing integration and system testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working within Agile environments and collaborating directly with developers, Product teams, and other stakeholders.
• Capability to independently manage assigned QA activities while proactively communicating progress, risks, defects, and blockers.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication, and attention to detail skills.
• Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG standards.
• Experience supporting System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience validating complex integrations or multi system workflows.
• Understanding of CI/CD integrated testing practices.
• Experience working with distributed Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience supporting beta releases and user feedback validation cycles.
• Basic SQL and database validation experience.
• Experience testing responsive and cross browser web applications.

Your Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for critical business workflows and regression scenarios.
• Execute API testing to validate requests, responses, integrations, error handling, and overall system behavior.
• Identify, document, reproduce, and meticulously track defects with clear evidence and actionable information.
• Verify bug fixes and perform targeted regression testing to ensure application stability.
• Actively participate in defect triage activities and support issue prioritization based on impact, severity, and release risk.
• Support beta testing cycles and validate feedback reported by users and stakeholders.
• Support System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through final validation and sign off.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Product teams, and stakeholders to guarantee quality objectives are met.
• Maintain thorough testing documentation and provide transparent visibility into execution status, defects, risks, and blockers.
• Independently manage testing deliverables within an established QA strategy.
