Quality and Release Manager at Raya

Responsibilities

• Quality Strategy: Lead the comprehensive QA strategy, encompassing both automated and manual testing. Determine automation priorities, manual testing scope, and acceptable risks. Ensure regression coverage on critical paths like onboarding, payments, subscriptions, messaging, and login. Evaluate the integration of third party testing services and AI assisted QA tooling.
• Visibility and Communication: Manage the release calendar and maintain Quality scorecards, reporting crash rates, defect escape rates, and overall release health to leadership.
• Continuous Improvement: Conduct release retrospectives, transform incidents and escaped defects into sustainable process improvements, and integrate release decisions with the incident response framework.
• Release Ownership: Oversee the end to end release process for the Raya iOS app, from establishing predictable release trains with clear cut off, freeze, and submission dates, through App Store submission, phased rollouts, and strategies for rollback or fix forwards.
• Go/No-Go Process: Define precise release readiness criteria and lead the critical go/no-go decision making.

Qualifications

• Over 6 years of experience in software quality, release management, or engineering, with at least 3 years in a people management role.
• Profound understanding of the App Store release lifecycle, including TestFlight, phased releases, expedited review processes, and effective rejection handling.
• Proven experience with subscription and payment flows specifically on iOS platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to build mobile test automation strategies, including real device testing, feature flags, and progressive rollouts.
• Expertise in determining the optimal balance between automated and manual testing, and managing third party QA or crowdtesting vendors.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, coupled with strong knowledge of Git branching strategies tailored for mobile release workflows.
• Excellent, direct written communication skills.
