Partner Operations and Systems Lead at Supabase
Job Description
About Supabase
Supabase is a leading Postgres development platform designed by developers for developers. We offer a comprehensive backend solution that includes a Database, Authentication, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime capabilities, and Vector Search. All our services are deeply integrated and built to support growth.
About the Role
Supabase's Partnerships function is expanding rapidly, encompassing Technology Partners, Solution Partners, Startups, and Cloud Partnerships. We are seeking a senior, hands-on Partner Operations and Systems Lead to establish and manage the operational and technical foundation for this team. This role is crucial for enabling swift decision making backed by reliable data. You will be responsible for designing the systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms that power the entire partnerships organization, and increasingly, you will build internal tools yourself. Supabase actively invests in AI assisted development to accelerate our build cycles, and this role is expected to be a prime example of leveraging these tools within Partnerships. Reporting directly to the Head of Partnerships, you will work alongside regional and functional leads, with a mandate to instill operational rigor across all teams. Beyond infrastructure, we seek someone who can contribute strategically to the partnerships' focus areas, not just report on their outcomes.
What You Will Own
Systems and Data Infrastructure
- Manage the end-to-end partner tech stack, including CRM partner objects, attribution tools, and partner facing portals.
- Design and maintain partner attribution models and the dashboards leadership uses to assess performance.
- Ensure data hygiene and consistency across partner records, deals, and touchpoints for all sub-functions.
Process and Program Management
- Design and execute partner onboarding, tiering, and certification programs.
- Oversee the RFC (Request for Comments) and DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) decision making framework for the partnerships team, including its usage and continuous refinement.
- Manage deal registration and 'quarterback' account ownership processes to align internal teams on partner sourced deals.
- Develop and maintain playbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and enablement materials to facilitate team scalability.
Internal Tooling and Automation
- Build internal automations to eliminate manual operational tasks, such as auto generated partner performance reports, HubSpot-to-Slack synchronizations, or deal conflict alerts, utilizing AI assisted development tools like Claude Code.
- Prototype and deploy lightweight internal applications and dashboards (e.g., partner health scorecards, RFC trackers, cross-tool synchronizations) without reliance on a shared data engineering backlog.
- Serve as the technical owner for partnerships' internal tools: writing specifications, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining them.
- Identify the appropriate boundary between a quick internal script and a solution requiring Data/Engineering for production hardening, and manage clean handoffs.
Reporting and Analytics
- Generate regular performance reports on partner attributed revenue and pipeline influence.
- Own the metrics and key performance indicator (KPI) framework used to evaluate the partnerships team.
- Provide support for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and board level reporting on partnership performance.
Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to partner segmentation, tiering, and prioritization strategies, leveraging data and operational insights to guide investment decisions.
- Challenge existing assumptions within the partner motion (e.g., tiers, incentive structures, resourced sub-functions) using evidence from the systems you manage.
- Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships on strategic planning cycles, translating operational signals into actionable recommendations.
- Drive the operational and cross functional work to execute agreed strategic directions.
Cross Functional Leadership
- Act as a liaison between Partnerships, Sales, RevOps, Legal, and Finance.
- Ensure partner agreement terms are accurately reflected in systems and reporting.
- Participate in discussions about partner segmentation, tiering, and incentive structure decisions as a contributor and challenger, rather than just an operator reporting on outcomes.
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in partner operations, revenue operations, or a similar ops function, including experience designing and scaling programs.
- Proven ownership of a partner or revenue tech stack, demonstrating experience with build/buy/migrate decisions, not just administration.
- Comfortable serving as the operational voice in executive level settings, including QBRs, board preparations, and cross functional planning.
- Hands-on proficiency with AI assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code), including scoping problems, effective prompting, critical review of output, and shipping real solutions.
- A strong understanding of partner economics, such as revenue share modeling and customer lifetime value (LTV) by partner type, to inform deal structuring.
- A track record of influencing strategic decisions and then leading their execution.
- Experience managing a small team or dotted line relationships across regions or sub-functions.
- Excellent written communication skills, capable of transforming ambiguity into clear frameworks or concise decision documents.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HubSpot (custom partner objects, multi touch attribution), Clazar for cloud co-sell, and Linear for project management.
- Background in a developer tools or platform business with a partner driven go-to-market strategy.
- Previous experience building internal tools or scripts, even informally, prior to the widespread adoption of AI assisted development.
How We Will Evaluate
In addition to standard interviews, candidates will complete a short build exercise. You will be presented with a complex partner data problem and asked to demonstrate how you would use Claude Code (or a similar tool) to solve it. We will evaluate your judgment and problem scoping abilities as much as the final output.
