The Opportunity: Public Sector Account Executive

As a Public Sector Account Executive, you will be a key champion for the adoption of process automation throughout the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) public sector. Your efforts will bring innovation, transparency, and efficiency to critical government agencies. What You Will Do

• Build and Expand Relationships: Develop and nurture strong relationships with public sector decision makers, establishing yourself as a trusted partner in their digital transformation efforts.
• Own the Sales Cycle: Manage the entire sales process from initial prospecting to successful closing, driving the adoption of Camunda’s industry leading automation solutions.
• Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic territory and account plans, leveraging your expertise and network to identify new opportunities and deliver tangible results.
• Cross functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical, product, and customer success teams to ensure maximum value realization and high customer satisfaction.
• Negotiation and Procurement: Skillfully navigate complex negotiations and public procurement processes with professionalism and resilience.
• Industry Representation: Represent Camunda at industry events, effectively advocating for Camunda’s portfolio through compelling communication and presentations.

What You Will Bring to the Role

Must Haves:

• Proven Sales Track Record: Strong history in software sales, consistently driving five to six digit Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) projects.
• Public Sector Expertise: Demonstrable experience with public sector evaluation and procurement methods.
• Established Network: A well-established professional network within Germany’s public sector.
• Self Motivation: Highly self-motivated with a “Manager of One” mindset, adept at working both independently and collaboratively.
• Customer Focus & Negotiation: Expert level customer focus, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Results Driven: Proven drive for results and resilience when operating in complex, multi stakeholder environments.
• Bilingual Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English.

Nice to Haves:

• Background in automation technology, workflow software, or process orchestration.
• Experience with open source business models and communities.
• Prior experience in a startup or scale up environment.

What We Have to Offer

Compensation

Camunda offers competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are structured based on location, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition. The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) provided below spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers are determined by skills, experience, and location, with hiring typically occurring in the first half of the range to allow for future growth:

• United States: $185,000.00 to $298,200.00
• Germany: €119,500.00 to €197,700.00
• United Kingdom: £116,100.00 to £191,000.00
• Singapore: S$229,700.00 to S$344,600.00

Equity:

We also offer equity (where applicable) through our Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).
