About the Role

We are actively seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in empowering more developers to discover, master, and innovate with Supabase. Key responsibilities include producing high-impact technical content, building practical real world projects, and actively representing Supabase across various developer communities and industry events. This position is ideal for individuals who are equally passionate about writing code and educating others.

Developer Relations (DevRel) is our primary channel for connecting with them through compelling content, engaged community participation, and practical code. We are cultivating a diverse community of communities, welcoming developers from all backgrounds, including first time open source contributors. As a DevRel Engineer, you will serve as a vital link between Supabase and the broader developer ecosystem, helping users get started, delve deeper into our platform, and fostering a strong sense of connection.

What You Will Do

• Create Engaging Content: Publish compelling technical content, with a strong emphasis on video, to accelerate developer learning and adoption of Supabase.
• Build Demos and Tutorials: Develop and ship real world applications utilizing Supabase alongside popular tools like Next.js, React, and Stripe. You will also author comprehensive guides that others can easily follow and adapt.
• Represent Supabase: Actively participate as a speaker at meetups, host live stream builds, and engage broadly with the developer ecosystem. You will become a visible and trusted advocate for the platform.
• Support and Grow the Community: Recognize and celebrate contributors, answer developer questions, highlight innovative projects, and channel valuable developer feedback back to the core team.
• Collaborate Cross Functionally: Work closely with engineering, product, and growth teams to amplify product launches, strategically prioritize content initiatives, and streamline the onboarding experience for new users.

• You are proficient in both crafting engaging video scripts and writing clean TypeScript code.
• You thrive in community environments, whether on platforms like Discord, Twitter, YouTube, or at in person events.
• You are self-directed, highly organized, and eager to contribute significantly to open source projects.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals, particularly with JavaScript or TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and modern front end frameworks (e.g., React, Svelte, Vue).
• Demonstrated experience in creating technical content, both written and video formats.
• Comfortable representing a product publicly, whether on camera, on stage, or through online channels.

Bonus Points If You Have

• A growing audience on platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, or Twitter.
• Previous experience in Developer Relations or contributing to open source projects.
• Personal experience using (and loving) Supabase.
