Job Summary

VRChat is seeking a highly skilled Senior Recruiter to spearhead critical hiring efforts for strategic business and technical roles. In this pivotal position, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders and hiring managers to strategize and scale key functions across VRChat. This role demands a strong background in developing hiring strategies and technical recruiting expertise. You will serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights on organizational design, headcount planning, role scoping, and market intelligence to inform and optimize our talent acquisition strategy.

Your impact will be significant in ensuring priority hires are made efficiently. You will achieve this by meticulously managing day-to-day recruiting operations, driving execution, building and nurturing talent pipelines, actively engaging candidates, and maintaining momentum throughout the entire interview process.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership and hiring managers to deeply understand organizational design requirements, influence headcount planning, and provide expert advice on optimal hiring strategies.
• Lead the comprehensive, end-to-end recruitment process, from initial sourcing and candidate screening through interviews, skillful offer negotiation, and successful closing.
• Develop robust candidate pipelines for challenging, high-priority roles. Proactively search for potential hires across diverse geographical locations and cultivate relationships with strong candidates not actively seeking employment.
• Provide actionable insights on evolving talent trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitive market dynamics to inform strategic hiring decisions and set realistic expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in recruiting processes, leveraging data analytics to optimize performance and achieve key hiring metrics.
• Ensure every candidate experiences a high-quality, values-aligned journey that authentically reflects VRChat's brand and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of comprehensive full-cycle recruiting experience.
• Proven track record of successfully hiring across a diverse mix of technical, product, and/or creative roles.
• Demonstrated ability to closely partner with hiring managers, effectively influencing role scoping, candidate calibration, and critical hiring decisions.
• Documented success in closing candidates in highly competitive markets, including managing multiple stakeholders and skillfully navigating complex offer negotiations.
• Ability to operate effectively and independently in a lean, fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple concurrent searches and consistently driving progress with minimal oversight.
• Strong sourcing capabilities and a proven ability to construct high-quality talent pipelines across various functions.
• Experience leveraging data analytics and market insights to inform and refine hiring strategy and improve overall recruitment outcomes.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency and experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience recruiting for consumer-facing, social, or platform-based products.
• Exposure to hiring in specialized areas such as trust & safety, content moderation, or community-focused roles.
• Prior experience in an embedded recruiting role within a company.
• Experience working for a startup or a high-growth technology company while simultaneously contributing to the development of a high-performing team.
• Demonstrated interest in Virtual Reality (VR), online communities, or prior experience as a VRChat user and creator, showcasing familiarity with the platform and community dynamics.
