About the Role

Camunda is seeking a talented engineer to develop and maintain Kubernetes Operators for its Camunda 8 SaaS offering. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability of Camunda’s cloud platform, managing numerous customer clusters, and addressing complex challenges related to Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and multi-cloud deployments across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a significant opportunity to impact Camunda's software and processes.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes Operators to manage the Camunda SaaS offering, directly contributing to delivering a robust platform with world-class reliability for global customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, field) to define, ship, and iterate on features, working on projects that extend Camunda’s SaaS across clouds, enable multi-region deployments, and deliver world-class security features.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing codebases for security, stability, and reliability, contributing to a team that values quality and reliability.
• Advocate for new ideas and foster a team environment that values both creativity and practicality, influencing engineering outcomes and enabling a world-class SaaS experience.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and 3rd level escalation support to ensure system objectives are met.

What You Bring

• Ability and/or willingness to use Camunda products.
• Experience using Go or another relevant language for cloud native software development.
• Practical experience with at least one major Cloud Service Provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and a deep understanding of its core concepts.
• Willingness to work collaboratively within a team, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive engineering culture.
• A pragmatic and autonomous approach to programming and problem solving.
• A "you build it, you run it" mentality, coupled with a deep passion for automation and raising the quality bar.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience writing and maintaining Kubernetes Operators, ideally with Controller-Runtime & Kubebuilder.
• Familiarity with infrastructure topics such as multi-region or multi-cloud provider setups, ideally with Crossplane.

Compensation

Camunda offers competitive, fair, and transparent compensation with salary ranges based on location. The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, with hiring typically in the first half of the range to allow for growth.

• United States: $149,800.00 to $241,500.00
• United Kingdom: £94,100.00 to £154,700.00
• Singapore: S$186,100.00 to S$279,100.00
• Canada: C$159,100.00 to C$261,600.00
