About the Role

We are actively seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our CMS Platform team. This team is responsible for the systems that enable content composition and presentation across the Circle platform, including our advanced Page Builder experience and forms, while also laying the foundation for future AI first interfaces. In this role, you will develop product facing experiences such as editing, previewing, publishing, layout, and components, alongside the essential backend systems that support them, including content models, rendering/publishing pipelines, permissions, and performance. This position is ideal for engineers who thrive on transforming ambitious product concepts into polished, scalable systems.

What you'll be doing

• Design, build, and deploy Page Builder features that directly enhance how customers create and publish their websites.
• Work comprehensively across the technology stack, utilizing React and TypeScript for frontend development and Ruby on Rails for backend systems.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate specifications into high quality, user friendly experiences.
• Enhance the architecture of the builder/editor and publishing pipeline to ensure reliability, extensibility, and optimal performance.
• Manage projects end to end, from initial technical design and implementation through testing, rollout, and continuous iteration.
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and actively contribute to a culture of quality and ongoing improvement.
• Embrace an async first work approach, communicating clearly and proactively.

What you'll need to be successful

• Demonstrated strong alignment with Circle’s core values, which are detailed on our career page.
• Possess 5+ years of experience in building and scaling SaaS products.
• Exhibit deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
• Adopt a product mindset, showing genuine interest in the 'why', meticulous attention to UX details, and a commitment to iterating based on customer needs.
• Have experience developing complex, stateful user interfaces (such as editors, builders, or design tools) and/or the supporting backend systems.
• Demonstrate solid architectural judgment and maintain a high bar for quality, balanced with practical pragmatism.
• Feel comfortable integrating and working alongside AI tools within your development workflow.
• Possess excellent asynchronous communication and collaboration skills.
• Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent), as the majority of collaboration at Circle occurs asynchronously.

Bonus points

• Prior experience working on site builders, page editors, or CMS platforms.
• Experience with rich text/content editing, drag and drop interactions, component systems, or design tooling.
• Familiarity with web performance optimization, caching strategies, and scaling high traffic rendering/publishing systems.
• Previous experience at an early stage or growth stage startup.
• Contributions to open source projects or involvement in developer communities.
