Senior Full Stack Engineer at Fueled
Job Description
Fueled is a leading digital strategy, design, and engineering agency, comprising a team of over 300 individuals. We have designed and built hundreds of digital products and experiences for prominent brands such as Google, Apple, The New York Times, ESPN, Victoriaโs Secret, MGM Resorts, Albertsons, and CLEAR.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Fueled, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling high-performance, accessible web applications that deliver premium user experiences. You will lead end-to-end solutions across the React, Next.js, and Node.js stack, employing strong typing with TypeScript to design robust data models, state management, and application architecture for complex, business-oriented interfaces. Your role will involve working with headless CMS platforms, implementing efficient caching, integrating with existing APIs and services, and enabling real-time, reliable functionality at scale. Through your work, ambitious ideas will be transformed into maintainable, future-ready systems that adapt to client needs, elevate quality and performance standards, and consistently achieve measurable outcomes.
Our team is intentionally remote and globally distributed across six continents, thriving in a culture that values flexibility, creativity, and cutting-edge technology. Together, we are shaping the future of digital experiences.
What you will do
- Architect and build dynamic, content-rich web experiences that convert marketing funnels into engaged communities. You will leverage headless CMSs like Sanity or Payload to empower clients and their marketing teams with rapid iteration capabilities, without compromising the bespoke performance and polish Fueled is known for.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of key product features, from initial concept to deployment and ongoing maintenance. You will be a crucial voice in shaping the technical approach, making critical decisions on headless architecture, and ensuring that shipped solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
- Elevate the teamโs velocity and craftsmanship by introducing and socializing tools and practices that raise the technical bar. You are expected to proactively identify bottlenecks, whether in build processes, state management, or CMS content modeling, and implement solutions that enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Bridge the gap between ambitious creative vision and technical reality, demonstrating that high-quality user experience and developer experience are not mutually exclusive. You will collaborate directly with designers and strategists to challenge assumptions, explore possibilities, and build solutions that are as elegant internally as they are for the end-user.
What you will achieve
- From Day 1, you will be shipping a tangible feature for a live client project, building immediate momentum.
- Within 6 months, you will own and deliver a key feature end-to-end and improve a core performance metric by at least 10%.
- You will enhance team efficiency by creating a reusable component or process that is adopted by your peers.
- By 12 months, you will have spearheaded a significant project phase from concept to launch, delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Your expertise will become a multiplier, evidenced by positive client or team feedback on your ability to solve complex challenges.
About you
- You think in systems and components, not just pages. You find genuine satisfaction in designing a React architecture or a data schema that is as intuitive for the content editor as it is performant for the end-user.
- You are a proactive problem-solver who does not wait for perfect requirements. You thrive on investigating ambiguity, asking โwhy,โ and prototyping solutions to complex challenges involving headless architecture, microservices, and data flow.
- You have a strong point of view, held loosely. You can articulate a compelling case for a specific technology or approach (such as using Next.js App Router versus Pages Router) but are equally committed to the teamโs final decision and its success.
- You view the โfull stackโ as a single, interconnected challenge. You are comfortable crafting a polished, dynamic front-end with Next.js and then delving into the back-end logic, API routes, or CMS configuration that makes it all possible.
- You are a natural collaborator and translator, capable of explaining technical constraints to designers and strategic goals to engineers, ensuring the entire multidisciplinary team builds momentum together.
