The Opportunity: Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Binance, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable and reliable backend services for our core exchange platform. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, distributed systems environment, contributing significantly to our global impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and highly available backend services that power our critical trading and financial infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend teams, and other engineering departments to meticulously define, plan, and implement new features and system enhancements.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize system reliability, and enforce stringent security measures across all services.
• Actively participate in rigorous code reviews, ensuring adherence to high-quality coding standards, best practices, and architectural integrity.
• Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on user experience.
• Serve as a mentor to junior engineers, fostering their growth and actively contributing to technical discussions and architectural decisions.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development, with a proven track record in high-traffic, distributed systems environments.
• Exceptional proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Kotlin, or Golang.
• Extensive experience with microservices architecture, designing and implementing RESTful APIs, and working with asynchronous message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with various database technologies, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.
• Demonstrated experience with leading cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and common software design patterns.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies is considered a significant advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, a strong sense of ownership, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a distributed team.
