Senior Ruby on Rails Developer at Applaudo

About the Role

Applaudo is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team and work on challenging, large scale projects for our clients. In this role you will design, build, and maintain robust back end systems and RESTful APIs, collaborating closely with product, design, and front end teams to deliver high quality software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications and APIs using Ruby on Rails
• Write clean, maintainable, and well tested code following best practices
• Collaborate with cross functional teams including designers, product managers, and QA engineers
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and design efficient schemas
• Integrate third party services and APIs
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical planning

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing with Ruby on Rails
• Strong knowledge of Ruby and the Rails framework
• Solid experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with front end technologies such as JavaScript and React is a plus
• Experience with automated testing frameworks like RSpec
• Knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with background job processing tools such as Sidekiq
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
