Job Description

About Camunda

Camunda is the enterprise platform for agentic orchestration, enabling organizations to coordinate AI agents, people, and systems across complex, end to end business processes. With built in governance, auditability, and human oversight, Camunda gives enterprises the control they need to move AI from pilots to production safely and at scale.

Trusted by over 700 organizations worldwide, including 9 of the top 10 US banks, Camunda helps enterprises boost operational efficiency, accelerate time to value, and deliver better customer experiences. Fully remote and global, we are in the middle of something bigger: transforming into an AI first organisation, built on our own platform. We use Agentic AI to automate, orchestrate intelligent processes, and elevate human contribution across every team.

Named GP Bullhound's Top 100 Next Unicorn list, 2025 Great Place to Work certified, Visionary in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies, and ranked 3rd in Flexa's 2026 Most Flexible Companies. We are growing fast and looking for top talent to join our team.

About the Role

At Camunda, our CI/CD infrastructure platform is treated as an internal product. Our mission is to build a platform that offers a Golden Path, enabling 150+ engineers across 20+ teams to deliver with world class velocity and uncompromising quality at scale, allowing Camunda engineers to focus on building the agentic technologies that will define our market leadership.

We are approaching a pivotal phase: an upcoming quality surge that will significantly increase testing volume and engineering throughput. Our platform must scale seamlessly without increasing developer toil. We are looking for an Engineering Manager who acts as a servant leader. You will guide a high leverage remote team of four infrastructure engineers and drive the evolution toward a scalable zero toil platform. At the organizational level, you will ensure that the right way is the easy way, serving as an advocate for the engineers who rely on the platform every day.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure we continuously deliver and improve our infrastructure platform.
  • Guide the team through massive reduction of manual work by employing an AI driven engineering approach, reaching a zero touch scalable infrastructure where AI handles dependency management, assists with incident resolution, cloud cost optimization, and developer support, ensuring the team can handle increasing scope and scale without having to grow in size.
  • Quality surge: prepare, define, and ensure execution of the strategy for our CI/CD and artifact distribution systems to scale without increasing engineering toil.
  • Grow, mentor, and coach a high leverage platform team of four infrastructure engineers by setting clear expectations, giving actionable and timely feedback, and fostering a culture of empathy, autonomy, and continuous improvement in an asynchronous, remote environment.

What You Bring

  • Ability and willingness to use our product.
  • People leadership experience: a track record of growing engineers to senior and beyond senior levels.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership: ability to translate tech needs into an actionable engineering roadmap and strategy and implement it across teams.
  • Senior level technical depth and competency with hands on experience in: cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS or similar); Kubernetes (any distribution); Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD or similar); and scaling high load CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions with self hosted runners or similar).
  • Backend engineering background, fluent in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Comfortable reviewing complex architecture and code; eager to contribute hands on when needed (e.g., to implement internal workflow automations).
  • Proven track record of ensuring team efficiency within remote, async first environments.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience transforming teams into AI native and/or automation first teams.
  • Background in technical product management or strong product thinking.
  • Experience implementing FinOps practices and accountability.

Compensation

We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition. The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary plus 100% variable target, where applicable) spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and we typically hire in the first half of the range:

  • United States: $172,600 to $278,300
  • Canada: C$183,300 to C$301,500
  • United Kingdom: £108,400 to £178,300
  • Singapore: S$214,400 to S$321,500

If you are based elsewhere, you will be hired via Remote.com (our global employer partner), and your Talent Acquisition Partner will provide a personalized Total Rewards Calculator after your first interview. Equity is also offered where applicable through our Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).

Benefits and Perks

  • Remote and Flexible: work from anywhere with the setup that suits you, home office budget, co working space support, and flexible time off.
  • In Person Connection: Annual Kickoff (Vienna in 2025, Madrid in 2026), team offsites, and Camundi Connection Budgets including contributing to meetups while travelling and local gatherings with fellow Camundi.
  • Health and Wellbeing: locally tailored healthcare, Modern Health for global mental wellbeing, and the Live Well Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA), a flexible global benefit scaling to 1,000 EUR annually from 2027.
  • Financial Security: retirement and pension plans (often with company contributions), plus life and disability insurance where relevant.
  • Professional Growth: up to $/EUR/GBP 1,000 per year for self driven learning such as courses, certifications, and books.

Camunda honours diverse cultures and backgrounds and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
