About the Role

This is an exciting time to join Camunda as we redefine how Total Rewards operates. We are at an inflection point, actively building toward an AI-first, orchestrated Total Rewards function where strategic insight drives every decision, and manual processes are systematically enhanced or replaced by intelligent tooling. This role is central to that journey, acting as both architect and operator. You will design and evolve our future work state while executing current operations, determining the optimal balance between human tasks and AI amplification. You will have significant influence over the design of these processes, focusing on maximizing impact on the employee experience. This position is ideal for someone who excels at the intersection of operational excellence and strategic innovation, comfortable with market data analysis, model building, and sensitive compensation discussions. If you are passionate about creating meaningful reward experiences in an asynchronous, remote-first environment, this is your opportunity to make a mark. You will report to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, collaborating closely with the Total Rewards Coordinator, People Business Partners, and Finance teams across our global footprint of over 35 countries.

What you'll be doing

Global Compensation & Equity Stewardship, Architecting for Intelligence

  • Own the end-to-end maintenance of our global job catalog, salary structures, and Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP) administration across 35+ countries.
  • Lead annual benchmarking cycles using Comptryx and Radford, translating market data into competitive positioning recommendations.
  • Proactively audit compensation data to maintain internal parity and equity.
  • Administer the VSOP program on Ledgy, ensuring seamless and accurate grant processes.
  • Identify where data processes can be enhanced for AI augmentation, surfacing insights that currently require manual analysis and prototyping smarter approaches.

Global Benefits Strategy & Compliance Partnership

  • Provide strategic support for our diverse benefits ecosystem across AMER, EMEA, and and APAC markets.
  • Work closely with the Total Rewards Coordinator on compliance architecture and complex escalations.
  • Navigate broker and vendor relationships (e.g., Sequoia, BAS, Remote) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for tooling and enhancements to predict employee needs, detect coverage gaps, or reduce enrollment friction.

Strategic Insights & Data Storytelling

  • Move beyond data preparation to become an insights generator.
  • Analyze pay equity, merit cycles, VSOP participation, and benefits utilization to understand employee experience.
  • Identify friction points and trends, providing forward-looking solutions to leadership.

Process Architecture & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with the Total Rewards Coordinator to eliminate bottlenecks in workflows (e.g., shared inbox, equity grants, lifecycle changes, vendor escalations).
  • Design and implement systems with People Operations and People Tech teams to improve efficiency and enhance the Camundi experience.
  • Identify opportunities for automation versus human judgment to ensure equitable and repeatable outcomes.

Human-Centered Communication & Advisory Partnership

  • Craft clear, empathetic, and actionable communications for technical Total Rewards concepts, including executive summaries, employee benefits guides, and sensitive compensation discussions.
  • Partner with People Business Partners to ensure the 'why' and human impact of rewards decisions are understood.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on compensation exceptions, equity, and benefits, applying both data rigor and empathy.

What you bring

  • Ability and/or willingness to use the Camunda product.

Global TR & Equity Experience

  • Proven track record (5+ years) in a Total Rewards or Compensation role within a multi-country, fast-paced environment.
  • Successful execution of complex annual merit, bonus, and benchmarking cycles at scale, demonstrating high attention to detail and strong project management.
  • Integrated experience across compensation, benefits, and equity/VSOP.

Global & US Benefits Expertise

  • Understanding of or exposure to the benefits strategy and compliance landscape in the USA and globally.
  • Comfort navigating US-based plans (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, HSA, FSA) alongside statutory and supplementary plans in EMEA (Germany, UK, Ireland, Netherlands) and APAC (Singapore and Australia).
  • Understanding of how Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements (like Remote) affect global benefits delivery.

AI-Curious & Digitally Literate

  • Genuine excitement for AI's potential to transform Total Rewards.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to explore AI-driven analytics, workflow automation, purpose-built AI agents, and intelligent platforms.
  • Comfort with experimenting, evaluating, and recommending new approaches and tools.

Proactive Problem Solver

  • Ability to identify and automate manual processes.
  • Thrives in an asynchronous, remote-first culture, comfortable moving projects forward across time zones through various communication methods.

Analytical Rigor

  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret data, present solutions, and communicate the meaning and impact of data.

Empathetic Communication Excellence

  • Ability to craft concise and engaging communications.
  • Prioritizes making rewards and equity information accessible, supportive, and meaningful.
  • Comfortable with sensitive one-on-one conversations and presenting frameworks to senior leaders.

Nice-to-haves
