About You

Applaudo is seeking a technically fluent, execution-oriented professional who excels at the intersection of product management, engineering, and stakeholder relations. You are adept at clear communication, operate with independence, and bring an empathetic approach to every interaction. Proactive and solution-oriented, you are skilled at identifying problems, defining effective solutions, and driving them forward within fast-paced Agile environments. You actively leverage AI tools as a core part of your daily workflow to enhance productivity and optimize delivery outcomes.

You are comfortable taking ownership of a product backlog, facilitating the onboarding of API partners, presenting to a Change Advisory Board, and collaborating directly with clients to resolve technical issues. You possess the ability to connect teams, foster accountability, and ensure that initiatives progress successfully.

Note: This position is offered under a contractor model for a period of 6 months.

Competencies You Bring to Applaudo

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Technical Business Analyst, working closely with engineering teams in digital product or software delivery environments.
  • Strong fluency in Agile and Scrum methodologies, including expert knowledge of backlog ownership, sprint ceremonies, user story writing, and acceptance criteria definition.
  • A robust product ownership mindset, with a proven ability to prioritize effectively, champion product quality, and drive the Definition of Done.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a crucial liaison between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external technology partners.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, capable of translating complex business requirements into clear technical language for diverse audiences at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and authentication concepts, including error handling, log review, and defect triage processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira or Azure DevOps for comprehensive backlog management, issue tracking, and release coordination.
  • Strong documentation skills, covering requirements, epics, user stories, workflows, and integration touchpoints.
  • An active user of AI tools and copilots, with a practical focus on improving workflows and enhancing engineering productivity.
  • Highly self-managed, with strong ownership capabilities and a proactive approach to risk identification across concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong empathy and genuine curiosity for customer and partner challenges, coupled with a practical and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Advanced English proficiency with conversational fluency, enabling effective collaboration with US-based stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain a meticulously groomed product backlog, ensuring user stories and acceptance criteria are well-defined and aligned with business needs.
  • Lead cross-functional project delivery and serve as the team’s single point of accountability for both quality and progress.
  • Act as the primary coordination point between internal engineering teams and external API or integration partners.
  • Translate complex business and partner requirements into clear, actionable functional and technical specifications.
  • Manage the intake, triage, prioritization, and assignment of technical issues, defects, and enhancement requests.
  • Support the onboarding of API and integration partners, encompassing requirements gathering, environment setup, testing, and go-live activities.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and cross-functional working sessions involving both internal and external teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze logs, error reports, and support tickets to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Deliver weekly status reports to stakeholders, clearly outlining milestones, identified risks, and any blockers.
  • Present change requests to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as required.
  • Coordinate and provide support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and partner validation activities.
  • Track delivery progress, identify dependencies, and manage risks across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Provide direct user support when necessary, including troubleshooting, feature walkthroughs, and discovery sessions.
  • Leverage AI tools to continuously improve workflows, documentation quality, and overall delivery speed.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance onboarding, support, and issue management processes through standardization and automation.
