Full Stack Engineer at Applaudo
Job Description
About the Role
Are you a self-directed Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in Python and Vue.js? Applaudo is looking for a proactive individual who takes ownership, moves quickly, and independently identifies issues, proposes solutions, and drives execution. You should be comfortable working in fast-paced, high-expectation environments, ready to contribute from day one while collaborating with distributed teams. This role demands a strong sense of autonomy, accountability, and clear communication. The position offers two complementary tracks: Backend-focused or Frontend-focused, depending on your core strengths.
Note: This position is offered under a contractor model for an initial period of 3 months, with potential for extension.
Competencies You Bring to Applaudo
- 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in Python (for the backend track) or Vue.js (for the frontend track).
- Strong experience with TypeScript across both frontend and backend contexts.
- Experience working in cloud-native or serverless environments, specifically with AWS.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, as well as machine-to-machine integrations.
- Ability to work autonomously within established frameworks without the need for close supervision.
- Proactive communication skills, with the ability to identify blockers and propose solutions early.
- Advanced English proficiency, essential for working effectively with distributed teams and stakeholders.
Backend-Focused (Preferred Experience):
- Strong production experience with Python for APIs, services, and AWS Lambda.
- Working knowledge of Vue.js to contribute to frontend tasks as needed.
Frontend-Focused (Preferred Experience):
- Strong production experience with Vue.js, TypeScript, and modern UI development.
- Solid CSS skills, including responsive design and component-based styling.
- Working knowledge of Python to support backend tasks when required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS Lambda, Serverless Framework, or SAM.
- Experience with Auth0 or Cognito.
- Experience with WebSockets or real-time communication.
- Experience with E2E testing frameworks such as Selenium.
- Knowledge of frontend security best practices (e.g., XSS, injection prevention).
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Deliver features aligned with the team backlog from day one.
- Own delivery within your primary stack (backend services/APIs or frontend UI/dashboard).
- Contribute to cross-stack tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead on architecture-aligned decisions.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
- Proactively identify and communicate blockers, risks, and dependencies.
