Backend Engineer - Futures at Binance

About the Role

Binance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer with a strong focus on Futures trading platforms. As a Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high performance, scalable, and resilient systems for our futures trading platform. This role requires expertise in building robust, low latency, and fault tolerant distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, high availability, low latency, and fault tolerant systems specifically for the futures trading platform.
• Build high throughput and low latency trading systems, ensuring optimal performance under demanding conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers and other engineers to define, plan, and implement new features and enhancements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well tested code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Actively participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality, consistency, and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on trading operations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional development.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and applicability to Binance's systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 7+ years of extensive experience in backend development, with a proven track record of building highly scalable, low latency, and fault tolerant distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Go (Golang), C++, Python, or Rust.
• Solid understanding of fundamental data structures, algorithms, and object oriented design principles.
• Demonstrable experience with both relational and non relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
• Experience implementing and working with messaging queues, including Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is considered a significant advantage.
• Previous experience in the financial industry, particularly with trading systems or futures platforms, is a strong plus.
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills, capable of tackling complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork across diverse teams.
• Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team in a fast paced, dynamic, and ever evolving environment.
