Role Overview: Backend Engineer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience to join our expanding engineering team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of robust, scalable, and high performance backend systems. You will work in close collaboration with various cross functional teams, including product and front end, to deliver cutting edge solutions that power our entire platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain highly scalable and reliable backend services and APIs, primarily leveraging modern languages such as Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Work collaboratively with product managers and front end engineers to meticulously define, develop, and optimize new features and functionalities.
• Ensure the highest levels of performance, quality, and responsiveness across all applications and services.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Actively participate in rigorous code reviews, contributing significantly to a culture of high code quality, shared knowledge, and continuous improvement.
• Proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and providing timely resolutions.
• Contribute strategically to architectural discussions and critical technical decisions that will shape the long term future of our platform.
• Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in their professional growth and promoting the adoption of best practices in backend development.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of demonstrable professional experience specifically in backend engineering roles.
• Proven track record in successfully developing and deploying scalable web services and robust APIs.
• Exceptional proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language, such as Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Solid experience with various database systems (both SQL and NoSQL) and strong data modeling capabilities.
• Familiarity with leading cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture and principles of designing distributed systems.
• Outstanding problem solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively and independently within a remote team setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience with real time data processing systems or message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with GraphQL for API development.
• Documented contributions to open source projects or community initiatives.
