Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales) at LiveKit at LiveKit
Job Description
About LiveKit
LiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the agentic era of computing. Our platform gives developers everything they need to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe AI agents in production. Founded in 2021, LiveKit powers voice and agentic AI applications for OpenAI, Salesforce, Spotify, Meta, and tens of thousands of other developers, collectively facilitating billions of calls each year.
About This Role
We are hiring a Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales) to serve as the technical partner to the engineers and enterprises building on LiveKit. You will collaborate with an account executive to understand customer needs, design appropriate architectures, and bring solutions to life through live demonstrations and proofs-of-concept. This role is perfect for someone passionate about building, energized by discussions with other engineers, and adept at transforming complex technical challenges into functional solutions. Because real-time voice and video is inherently visceral, covering aspects like latency, quality, and reliability is crucial for delivering the best user experience.
You will work closely with our Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to secure technical wins and ensure field feedback influences our development roadmap.
What You Will Do
- Partner with an account executive to act as the technical lead on strategic deals, covering discovery, architecture design, demos, Proof of Concepts (POC), and final technical decision making.
- Advise customers on cloud architecture and deployment strategies across self-hosted environments and LiveKit Cloud utilizing AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Develop live demos and reference applications, including voice agents, video pipelines, and telephony integrations, customized for individual customer use cases and reusable by the broader team.
- Define and execute proofs-of-concept against clearly defined success criteria, guiding customers through the entire path to production.
- Consult with customers on connectivity, infrastructure, and end-to-end latency to ensure designs can scale reliably.
- Produce technical content such as blog posts, guides, webinars, and conference presentations to assist developers and enterprises in adopting LiveKit.
- Function as the technical enabler for your designated region's pod, sharing valuable field insights with the Product and Engineering departments to help shape the product roadmap.
Who You Are
- Requires 4 or more years of experience in solutions architecture, sales engineering, or a customer-facing engineering capacity, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience paired with strong customer instincts.
- Must possess hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and be capable of architecting, deploying, and debugging real-world applications.
- Familiarity with the modern deployment toolchain is necessary, including containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and networking fundamentals like load balancing, DNS, and firewalls/NAT.
- Must be able to reason thoroughly about connectivity, infrastructure, and latency, understanding how architecture, network path, compute resources, co-location, and model selection impacts AI agent experiences.
- Demonstrate strong programming proficiency in at least one of the core SDK languages: Python, TypeScript/Node, or Go.
- Be a clear communicator who excels at demos, presentations, and writing technical content for diverse technical audiences.
Nice to Have Skills
- Working knowledge of real-time media protocols and their inherent latency and quality trade offs, such as WebRTC, RTP/SRTP, and WebSockets.
- Familiarity with the AI voice stack, including Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) providers, LLM integration, speech-to-speech models, turn detection, and telephony/SIP.
- Experience speaking at meetups or conferences, or a documented history of technical writing or open source contributions.
Our Commitment to You
- The chance to build something truly impactful globally.
- Opportunities to contribute to open source alongside world class engineers.
- A competitive salary and equity package.
- A flexible vacation policy.
