Support Engineer - Security Focus at CloudLinux

Role overview
CloudLinux is seeking an experienced Support Engineer with a strong focus on security to join our remote-first team. You will provide technical support for Linux-based hosting products and security solutions, helping customers resolve security incidents, mitigate attacks, and maintain secure environments. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting, incident response, and knowledge base creation to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver world-class technical support to customers worldwide, with a focus on security issues.
- Use Linux skills to analyze and resolve diverse technical and security problems.
- Work closely with developers to troubleshoot, debug, and track issues and bugs.
- Engage directly with customers to ensure satisfaction and positive product experiences.
- Investigate and resolve security incidents, identify malicious code, and perform basic remediation.
- Apply WAF and DDoS mitigation strategies to protect customer environments.
- Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles and internal documentation based on findings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a security-focused support role, preferably with web application security responsibilities.
- Familiarity with security utilities and diagnostics such as netstat, nmap, iptables.
- Experience with popular control panels and hosting security solutions, such as cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk.
- Knowledge of common CMS platforms, including WordPress and Joomla, and typical CMS-related threats and mitigations.
- Strong understanding of WAF concepts, DDoS mitigation techniques, and malware detection approaches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical users.
- Ability to work shift rotations, with priority coverage 3pm-11pm Kyiv time, and flexibility to switch to 7am-3pm, 12pm-8pm, or occasionally 11pm-7am. Weekend shifts will be part of a rotating schedule.
- Experience working with additional CloudLinux utilities and products is a plus.
