The Opportunity: Sanctions Advisory Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sanctions Advisory Specialist to join our Compliance team. This role is crucial for ensuring that Binance adheres to global sanctions regulations, which are vital for maintaining the integrity and security of our platform. You will provide expert advice on sanctions-related matters, conduct thorough investigations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our compliance programs. Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance on complex sanctions matters, interpreting global regulations (OFAC, UN, EU, UK, etc.) and their applicability to Binance's operations.
• Conduct in-depth investigations into potential sanctions violations, including reviewing transactions, customer data, and open-source intelligence.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and product teams to design and implement robust sanctions controls within our platform and internal processes.
• Develop and deliver training programs on sanctions awareness and compliance best practices to various internal stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of evolving sanctions landscapes, regulatory updates, and industry best practices to ensure our compliance framework remains effective and current.
• Assist in preparing comprehensive reports for senior management and regulatory bodies regarding sanctions compliance efforts and incident management.
• Support the enhancement of our sanctions screening tools and methodologies, including evaluating new technologies and optimizing existing ones.
• Participate in internal and external audits related to sanctions compliance.
• Contribute to the drafting and updating of internal sanctions policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in sanctions compliance, financial crime compliance, or a related regulatory role within a financial institution, fintech, or crypto company.
• Strong understanding of major global sanctions regimes (OFAC, UN, EU, UK, etc.) and their practical application.
• Proven experience in conducting sanctions investigations and providing advisory support.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, global team environment.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
• A genuine interest in blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and the Web3 ecosystem.

Nice to Have

• ACAMS, CAMS-FCI, or other relevant compliance certifications.
• Experience with sanctions screening software and transaction monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of other financial crime regulations (AML, KYC).
• Proficiency in multiple languages.
