Job Description

GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps. GitLab empowers organizations to significantly boost developer productivity, enhance operational efficiency, lower security and compliance risks, and accelerate digital transformation. Trusted by over 50 million registered users, over 50% of the Fortune 100 rely on GitLab to deliver better, more secure software faster. Our internal culture mirrors the principles of our products: we embrace AI as a primary driver of productivity, expecting all team members to integrate AI into their daily workflows to foster efficiency, innovation, and impact. At GitLab, careers advance, innovation thrives, and every voice holds value. We invite you to co-create the future with us while building technology that transforms software development globally.

As a Contract Talent Acquisition Sourcer at GitLab, you will be instrumental in building robust candidate pipelines for our sales team across the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. This is a fully remote role within a distributed company. Your core focus will be identifying and engaging passive talent for sales positions, working in close collaboration with recruiters, hiring managers, and business leaders to fully grasp hiring requirements and local market dynamics. This position is highly outbound, meaning your research capabilities, outreach efforts, and critical judgment will directly shape hiring success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, screen, and engage passive candidates for sales roles across the APJ region utilizing LinkedIn, online research, and other proactive outreach channels.
  • Construct representative candidate pipelines, placing a strong emphasis on discovering talent from a diverse spectrum of professional backgrounds and experiences.
  • Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to fully comprehend role prerequisites, business objectives, and the ideal candidate profile.
  • Conduct talent market mapping and gather intelligence regarding competitors, specific locations, and available candidate pools to intelligently inform sourcing strategies.
  • Evaluate candidate suitability against specific roles, team needs, and GitLab's core values, and present clear recommendations to recruiting partners.
  • Screen and qualify potential candidates, managing and maintaining talent benches across multiple countries within the APJ region to guarantee deep pipeline strength and readiness for evolving business demands.
  • Ensure an excellent candidate experience by providing thoughtful outreach, consistent communication, and building professional relationships.
  • Continuously refine sourcing workflows, outreach methodologies, and research techniques to boost both efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain meticulous records of activities and candidate data within applicant tracking and recruiting systems, while maintaining an openness to mastering new tools and processes.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting and/or sourcing, including proven experience proactively sourcing passive candidates in a fully outbound setting.
  • Experience sourcing for Account Executive and other sales roles, preferably within the software industry.
  • Exceptional research skills and the ability to identify, map, and engage talent across competitive regional and global markets.
  • Proven ability to partner with recruiters and hiring managers to align on hiring needs and adapt sourcing strategies as priorities shift.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to build trust across diverse teams, candidates, and time zones.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and comfort managing numerous searches, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruiting technologies. Experience with Greenhouse or LinkedIn Recruiter is highly advantageous.
  • Comfort with asynchronous remote work environments, coupled with a genuine willingness to learn and utilize tools like GitLab.

About the Team

The Talent Acquisition team at GitLab is dedicated to ensuring the company grows by attracting individuals who align with our mission and can excel in our completely remote setting. Sourcing plays a crucial role in reaching talent who might not be actively looking, especially in highly competitive markets and critical business functions. You will be working alongside teammates who deeply value the candidate experience, thoughtful partnership, and inclusive hiring practices. Our team emphasizes clear communication, sharp market insight, and steady refinement of our operational processes. This role is particularly vital as GitLab expands its go-to-market teams in APJ, where strong regional expertise and effective cross-timezone collaboration will enable teams to hire with greater focus and certainty.

GitLab Supports Its Full-Time Employees With:

  • Benefits designed to support your health, finances, and overall well-being.
  • Flexible Paid Time Off.
  • Team Member Resource Groups.
  • Equity Compensation and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Growth and Development Fund.
  • Parental Leave.

We welcome interest from candidates regardless of experience level, as many successful applicants may not meet every single listed criterion. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, as studies indicate people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply unless they meet every single prerequisite. If you are interested in this role, please apply so our recruiters can evaluate your candidacy.
