This internship is currently open within our Endless Lifecycle Support (ELS) team. Endless Lifecycle Support (ELS) is one of TuxCare's key products, enabling organizations to securely continue using Linux distributions and software languages that have reached end of life or no longer receive standard security updates. ELS delivers vulnerability patches for unsupported versions of CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, and Oracle Linux, as well as for runtimes and frameworks such as PHP, Python, Spring, Angular/AngularJS, Django, and Flask.

Role Overview

As an intern at TuxCare, you will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in C development and contribute to the development of our innovative projects.

What You Will Do

• Work on real world projects and contribute to the development of our products
• Collaborate with our experienced development team and learn from industry professionals
• Gain experience in writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices
• Learn how to write effective unit tests and ensure quality in software development
• Get exposure to different areas of C development, including backend development and system programming

Requirements

• Some C programming and debugging skills
• Experience using Git for development and patch/branch management
• Experience with the GNU/Linux operating system (CLI) and shell scripting
• Basic experience with building the Linux kernel and troubleshooting related issues
• English proficiency at B1 level or above; you will be communicating a lot in English, especially in writing
• Self starter who is hungry to learn
• Final year student or entry level engineer with strong fundamentals
• Able to read and reason about C and systems code, reviewing and validating patches is central
• Solid fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants day to day; basic prompting and able to spot when the output is wrong
• Broad awareness of the current AI assisted development landscape, different models for different tasks and common tooling is a nice to have
