Software Engineer, Frontend - Risk Platform

The Risk Platform team creates systems to detect and prevent fraud while enabling business growth.
Role overview
As a Frontend Engineer on the Risk Platform team, you will help shape the next generation of web and mobile interfaces that power risk detection and prevention workflows. You will build trustworthy, performant, and maintainable user experiences that help analysts, operators, and product teams act on fraud signals quickly and accurately. The role partners closely with Platform teams including Payments, Finhub, Identity, Machine Learning, and Product to deliver end to end solutions.
What you will do
- Shape the next generation of Risk Platform architecture and build web and mobile UI components that are simple, performant, and reliable.
- Design and implement user interfaces with React, React Native, Typescript, React Navigation, Jest, and Webpack to support risk workflows and operator tooling.
- Work with product managers, designers, engineers, analysts, and Ops to translate product vision into quarterly roadmaps and shipped features.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning and backend teams to surface signals, present model outputs, and support model training and validation workflows.
- Mentor and train other engineers on design patterns, coding standards, testing, and accessibility best practices.
- Deliver high quality, well tested code and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture.
What we look for
- At least 2 years of experience developing web applications and shipping user facing features using JavaScript and modern component based frameworks like React.
- Proven experience shipping user facing features built with component based UI frameworks and writing maintainable, testable code.
- Familiarity with frontend architecture best practices, including performance, security, accessibility, and usability.
- Comfort collaborating across product and design lifecycles to deliver shipped features and iterate quickly on feedback.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain tradeoffs and design decisions to technical and non technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience on frontend teams in finance, compliance, or fraud prevention domains.
- At least 1 year of experience with React Native or migrating native apps to React Native.
- Familiarity with blockchain concepts, onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, or dApps.
Role details
Job ID: GPFE05US. Work model: #LI-Remote. Coinbase is remote first but not remote only - in person participation at offsites and events is expected and supported.
Compensation
Pay Range: $152,405 - $179,360 USD, depending on work location. Full time offers include target bonus, target equity, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision and 401(k) where applicable.
