The Opportunity: Principal Technical Program Manager, Platform Foundation

As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the Platform Foundation team, you will be instrumental in defining the long-term technical strategy and execution for core platform teams. These teams build the foundational primitives that enable every engineering team at Binance to scale reliably. You will lead cross-functional initiatives across infrastructure, security, and developer productivity, ensuring that our core platform infrastructure is secure, scalable, and resilient. This is a high-impact role for an experienced technical program manager who can operate with autonomy, drive complex programs across multiple engineering teams, and influence technical direction at an organizational level. You will also be key in shaping how Binance leverages AI to optimize its platform and engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term technical strategy and execution roadmap for core platform teams, focusing on foundational primitives that enable engineering scalability at Binance.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across critical domains including infrastructure, security, and developer productivity, ensuring the core platform infrastructure is secure, scalable, and resilient.
• Drive technical alignment and consensus across multiple engineering teams, influencing architectural decisions and ensuring consistent adoption of best practices.
• Manage the entire program lifecycle from initial concept and technical design through development, testing, and successful production deployment.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, anticipate potential roadblocks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure smooth program delivery.
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering leadership, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and actionable plans.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive program documentation, including technical specifications, timelines, resource plans, and status reports for executive leadership.
• Champion a culture of engineering excellence, security-first mindset, and continuous improvement across the platform organization.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools that enhance platform capabilities and developer experience, with a focus on AI-driven solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of technical program management or engineering management experience within large-scale, distributed systems environments.
• Proven track record of successfully leading multi-quarter technical initiatives from concept to production, with demonstrable impact on platform reliability, scalability, or security.
• Deep understanding of core infrastructure domains such as cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), networking, and security best practices.
• Strong experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments, drive alignment across diverse teams, and make sound technical decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience in leveraging AI for platform optimization or developer productivity is a strong plus.
• A genuine passion for blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and the Web3 ecosystem.
