About the Role

We are currently scaling a new vertical within Dandy and are seeking our first dedicated Marketing Leader to take full ownership. This is not solely an individual contributor role; it is an orchestration position. You will be responsible for building and managing the entire marketing engine, which includes directing our agency partners, owning affiliate and events strategy, and progressively developing internal capabilities to reduce our reliance on external resources. You will operate with significant autonomy and report directly to senior leadership. Your primary objective is to ensure that the right tasks are executed by the right people, whether that involves an agency, a vendor, or eventually a team you have helped build. If you thrive on bringing order to ambiguity, hold vendors accountable for measurable outcomes rather than just activity, and can clearly communicate necessary plan adjustments to leadership, this role is perfectly suited for you.

What You'll Do and Bring

  • Possess 6+ years of comprehensive marketing experience, including omnichannel strategies, with a proven ability to refine and develop creative content that resonates with customer interests.
  • Demonstrate a strong creative eye and the ability to direct agency-produced work with conviction. You instinctively recognize effective creative work and can clearly articulate why something may not be working.
  • Proven capability to manage and direct external agencies and vendors. You understand how to scope work, ask incisive questions, and hold partners accountable for pipeline generation, not just deliverables.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with product and go-to-market teams to launch new products and establish key value propositions and competitive advantages.
  • Comfort operating effectively in ambiguous environments with limited predefined structure. You are adept at creating the playbook as you go and resetting expectations when circumstances necessitate a change in plan.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills: you can present progress to leadership in a manner that builds trust, even when initial metrics deviate from targets.
  • A strong bias toward action, combined with the judgment to discern when to move rapidly and when to proceed cautiously to establish a solid foundation.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience marketing to Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs), particularly within healthcare, dental, or adjacent regulated verticals.
  • Familiarity with B2B2C or two-sided market dynamics.
  • A background in editorial, publishing, or brand management, indicating an understanding of how to organically build an audience rather than solely acquiring one.
  • Outstanding professional references who can attest to your ability to operate independently and drive tangible results.
  • A relentlessly positive attitude, a strong sense of humor, and an ability to foster an enjoyable work environment.
