We are seeking a Market Surveillance Investigator to collaborate with our compliance, legal, technology, and front office product teams. In this vital role, you will assist in designing and implementing new surveillance capabilities, contributing to the design of the surveillance infrastructure, and meticulously analyzing and investigating the output of complex surveillance reports.

Responsibilities

• Timely analysis of alerts to detect and prevent market misconduct.
• Identifying areas of concern and escalating abnormal or aberrant activity to the Head of Market Surveillance.
• Contributing to the design and development of models to boost surveillance coverage, focusing on conduct risk, compliance policies, and market manipulation.
• Conducting ad-hoc reviews of trading activity, applying judgment to resolve complex situations efficiently.
• Compiling thorough analysis and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders, including Legal and Compliance.
• Staying current on regulatory, business, and market structure changes impacting the surveillance program to continuously improve coverage.
• Utilizing exceptional analytical and communication skills when engaging with market participants regarding activity under review.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of industry experience, ideally in financial services compliance, at a regulator, exchange, or similar venue, with a strong grasp of financial markets and trading.
• Proven ability to excel in a rapidly changing and complex work environment.
• Strong functional knowledge of trade surveillance and exception based monitoring.
• Substantial knowledge of financial and trading regulatory frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Resourceful, results oriented, self starter, possessing perseverance and the ability to overcome obstacles.
• Demonstrated high level of initiative, analytical skills, and impeccable integrity.
• Knowledge of digital asset products and market structure is a plus.
• Proficiency in Tableau, Python, and SQL is a plus.
