The Opportunity: Lead Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Lead Security Engineer to join our elite cybersecurity team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding Binance's critical infrastructure, applications, and data. You will lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of robust security measures, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices across our engineering organization. This is a unique chance to work at the forefront of blockchain security, addressing complex challenges at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of advanced security solutions for Binance's global platforms.
• Conduct comprehensive security reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments of applications, infrastructure, and systems.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the engineering lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to embed security into every stage of development (Secure SDLC).
• Respond to and manage security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Research emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other security engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence.
• Drive automation initiatives for security controls and monitoring.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
• Deep expertise in application security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and infrastructure security.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) for security automation and tool development.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles and secure communication protocols.
• Experience with security testing tools (SAST, DAST, penetration testing) and vulnerability management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, global, and remote environment.

Highly Desirable Skills

• Experience with blockchain technology, smart contract security, or cryptocurrency exchanges.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or equivalent.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker security.
