Role Summary

We are hiring a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer to build and scale features across beehiiv’s Website ecosystem and product suite. You will work across the stack to deliver high quality user experiences, optimize performance, and help evolve our tech stack for scale. This is a remote, full-time role with a preference for candidates who can work U.S. hours, specifically EST.

Key Responsibilities

• Build features and improvements across the website product stack, shipping end to end from design to production.
• Prioritize and triage a backlog of high impact feature requests and bugs, balancing speed and quality.
• Transition the tech ecosystem into a more robust and performant architecture, optimizing for scale and reliability.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend services using React and Typescript.
• Document designs, decisions, and development work to enable knowledge sharing and maintainability.
• Contribute creative solutions, collaborate with cross functional teams, and help drive the product to market.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building production web applications.
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and Typescript or equivalent modern frontend tooling.
• Excellent understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture.
• Proven ability to build world class user experiences and work with WYSIWYG editors.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills for high throughput systems.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and familiarity with caching and analytics stores like Redis or Clickhouse.
• Comfort working in an agile team and collaborating across design, product, and engineering.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with website builder ecosystems, high throughput PostgreSQL optimization, or Clickhouse.
• Experience building AI-native features and working on small, high performing engineering teams.
• Keen design intuition and experience with editor tooling like Tiptap.

Location and Compensation

Remote, global candidates welcomed, with a preference for availability during U.S. EST hours. Compensation is dependent on experience. Typical range USD 150,000 - 210,000, varying by experience and location.
