You are a Software Development Engineer (SDE) with substantial exposure to AI/ML-driven solutions, passionate about building intelligent features that deliver real business impact. You are hands-on, product-oriented, and comfortable experimenting with new technologies. You enjoy translating business needs into scalable AI/ML solutions and continuously improving outcomes through iteration and evaluation. AI/ML is an integral part of your practice; you leverage AI tools to enhance research, accelerate iteration, and expand your impact across technical and strategic areas. You contribute to defining how AI/ML is used within the design discipline, elevating both team standards and product quality. You thrive in environments that require autonomy, curiosity, and accountability, while maintaining a collaborative mindset and a commitment to excellence.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Service Design, Graphic Design (UX-focused), or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with strong exposure to AI/ML-driven solutions.
• Hands-on experience working with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, or AWS Bedrock.
• Solid knowledge of Prompting engineering techniques, including structured prompting, few-shot learning, and chain-of-thought approaches.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models through APIs and orchestrating interactions between multiple AI/ML services.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts such as classification, recommendation systems, and embeddings.
• Experience handling and preprocessing data (e.g., JSON and lightweight datasets).
• Familiarity with frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases like Pinecone or Weaviate.
• Product-oriented mindset with a strong focus on experimentation and business impact.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable AI/ML-driven solutions.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to balance innovation and technical feasibility.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) (Nice to have).
• Knowledge of model evaluation techniques (e.g., quality scoring, benchmarking) (Nice to have).
• Basic experience with fine-tuning techniques or adapters (Nice to have).
• Experience building AI/ML-powered features for digital products (Nice to have).

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Design and implement AI/ML-powered features such as recommendations, content generation, and AI/ML assistants.
• Build rapid prototypes to validate user and business hypotheses.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into product workflows, ensuring practical and scalable applications.
• Design and optimize prompts, interaction patterns, and pipelines for AI/ML model usage.
• Continuously evaluate and improve output quality through prompt tuning and experimentation.
• Develop intelligent solutions such as recommendation systems, copilots, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with Cloud Developers to ensure scalable and efficient AI/ML integrations.
• Assess risks, costs, and scalability of AI/ML implementations.
• Stay up to date with emerging AI/ML trends and technologies to continuously improve solutions.
