Customer Growth Manager at Uscreen at Uscreen
Job Description
About Uscreen
Uscreen is the video monetization platform for businesses that build recurring revenue from video content. Our customers replace a patchwork stack of separate hosting, community, courses, email, and app vendors with one branded experience across web, mobile, and TV. We believe growth requires behavior, not just software. Customers do not stall because a feature is missing. They stall because they priced wrong, never built an email list, or launched an offer nobody wanted. Coaching is how we fix that, and it is part of the product rather than an add-on.
The Role
You will own a specific segment and run it with the mindset of a growth marketer. We have a cohort of smaller video businesses where retention is not where it should be. Nobody owns this area today. You will. The revenue that stays in that segment, and the revenue that grows inside it, is yours. This is a coaching role designed for someone with a growth marketer's mindset.
We would not hire a demand gen marketer who cannot analyze the state of a business and determine what is needed, nor will we hire a coach who cannot do the same. You will examine a customer's business the way an owner would: identifying where revenue originates, where it leaks, and formulating the next steps. You pull your own data to achieve this. When a customer requires a custom report to address a specific growth question, you build it yourself. This is a one to many position. Your cohort is larger than a 1:1 book, so the work involves designing coaching that scales, including cohort programs, group sessions, office hours, and triggered outreach when the data indicates a business is drifting. You will build this motion rather than inheriting it. Success is measured in dollars: gross revenue retention within your cohort is the primary goal, with expansion as the secondary measure. It is not measured by tickets closed or calls booked.
What You Will Do
- Own gross revenue retention and expansion for an assigned segment of customers.
- Diagnose each business operating with the mindset of an operator: read their numbers, find the real constraint, and translate it into a plan they can execute.
- Coach customers through the critical decisions that move revenue, such as pricing, packaging, positioning, offer design, email and funnel strategy, and retention mechanics.
- Run group coaching sessions, cohort programs, office hours, and asynchronous coaching within the Membership+ platform.
- Answer customer growth questions using their own data, including insights from our largest accounts, and build custom reports when necessary, for example, analyzing the performance of their paid search campaigns.
- Identify which accounts in your segment are drifting and work with the team lead to measure which specific coaching plays actually move retention.
- Build the playbooks and session formats that make this process repeatable. As the first person in this seat, what you build will define how we scale this function across the company.
- Bring all learnings back to the Product and Success teams. You will be closer to this segment than anyone else at the company.
Who We Are Looking For
A coach who possesses a growth marketer's mindset. Perhaps you have run growth or demand generation for a small business, built your own audience, or coached founders through their financial data. You understand how a membership business generates revenue, you pull your own analytics to see what is working, and you are comfortable presenting this to a client.
- What matters most is your ability to find the real constraint within a business and then sit with the operator to deliver the honest assessment.
- Requires 3 to 5 years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, coaching, consulting, or running your own online business, possessing genuine ownership over an outcome.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen. You understand pricing, funnels, retention, and unit economics, and you can articulate how a business generates profit.
- You self-serve your own analytics. You get answers from dashboards, BI tools, and AI without needing to wait for a data team.
- Can read retention curves, cohort behavior, and funnel conversion data to form a well-reasoned point of view.
- Comfortable guiding a non-technical business owner through their numbers live and answering spontaneous questions.
- Strong live facilitation skills, covering group sessions, workshops, webinars, and 1 to 1 calls.
- Working fluency with AI tools for research, preparation, analysis, and synthesis. Our team uses Claude daily to prepare sessions, analyze customer data, and build coaching assets, and you should leverage these tools.
- Clear, simple communication. Complex ideas must be delivered in plain language.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience as a marketing or growth analyst.
- Experience building reports in a BI tool such as Lightdash, Looker, Tableau, or Metabase.
- Proficiency in SQL, especially with BigQuery.
- A background as a creator, coach, or small business owner.
- Experience working with video businesses, online educators, subscription models, or membership businesses.
- Familiarity with the surrounding technology stack, including Kit/ConvertKit, YouTube, Kajabi, Circle, Squarespace, Meta, and Instagram, and the associated ad platform reporting.
- Experience building a scaled or one to many customer program.
The Challenges
What is difficult about this role:
- You will own a metric you cannot fully control. Some customers will not act on advice and will eventually churn. You must own your influence on an outcome rather than the outcome itself.
- It is a lagging metric. Retention moves slowly. Your workload is protected for the first two quarters because of this. You will be doing the necessary work for months before the number reflects it.
- The standard motion does not yet exist. Playbooks exist for our 1 to 1 coaching, but the scaled version for this segment is an open question that you will help answer. If you require a finished playbook on day one, this will cause frustration.
- You will switch modes throughout the day. One moment dealing with a customer's numbers, the next leading a group session after lunch, and finally having an honest conversation with a founder before the day ends. This role does not cater to deep immersion in a single type of work all week.
- You will deliver honest assessments to people deeply invested in what they have built. This requires a specific kind of nerve, especially when the data provides unwelcome news.
Compensation and Benefits
What we offer:
- Flexible Paid Time Off plus 8 company holidays.
- Remote, global team structure.
- Paid parental leave.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance (US based).
- Technology and home office stipend.
- Coworking space stipend.
- Annual learning stipend.
Benefits may vary depending on your location and local regulations. Final eligibility and coverage details will be shared during the hiring process.
